Off-grid Solution Project

Brighten Up Our Village,
Our Homes and the Future of Our Children.

A mother who lives in
an area without electricity

I’m home. I need to start cooking supper. It has been a week since I started working part time at the candy factory. This village doesn’t have electricity, but I feel a real change is happening. It’s getting dark, so let’s turn on our solar lanterns. It’s brighter, and we don’t have to be bothered by smoke from the oil lamp. No more coughing. This makes it easier for me to cook, and my kids are doing better with their homework. This has changed the way we spend our time after dark.

Solar Lanterns bring light to areas without electricity.

This change happened when Panasonic donated Solar Lanterns and a Power Supply Station to our village. It’s developed for areas like this village that have no electricity. The station generates electricity from solar panels and stores the power in batteries. So we can use electricity anytime. I never imagined that such a thing could come to our village without power lines.

Panasonic's Power Supply Station.

The village made a small sweets factory powered by electricity from the Power Supply Station, and I got a job as a part-time worker there. Since the street can now be lit, I am less afraid of being bitten by a poisonous snake on the street at night. Above all, the best thing is that my children can now study in a bright space without using a smoky oil lamp. Our village, our home and the future of our children are now bright. We feel so happy to be able to live with electricity.

The technology and solutions presented here were announced in the above press release or exhibition. Some are in the R&D stage or are under consideration for commercialization.
